A week from today, I'll be in Rutland Vermont. I've waited about five years to get back there, for my third genealogy trip. By this time next week, I'll have met a new distant cousin, Karen, who lives in the area, and spent the day walking cemeteries in and around Rutland looking for clues to my ancestors.
This will be my first trip with a laptop, which holds my entire family history, so I'll be able to do near realtime updates. I also bought a good digital recorder, so I can record stories told by my new cousins.
I'll spend three days in the Rutland area, including a day trip to Hartford CT for a cousin meeting, then move to the Burlington area to meet more new cousins and research at the State Dept of Vital Records.
